Saipem Taqa AI-Rushaid Fabricators Company Ltd. (STAR) is a leading limited liability partnership that was established in 2007. It was formed by Taqa AI-Rushaid for Marine works co. Ltd. (TAM) and Saipem International BV, with 60%/40% ownership respectively. STAR has been pioneering in the offshore platform engineering design and construction since October 2008, for Saudi Aramco at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The fabrication yard is located inside the King Abdulaziz seaport and provides deep water access. This major initiative of fabricating platforms for the offshore oil and gas fields is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, making STAR an industry leader. The yard has a current production capacity of 30,000 tons annually, making it one of the most productive in the region.
